This Blueberry Smoothie with coconut water is my favourite, it’s so lush! It’s such a refreshing drink that does not only taste good, but is also good for you – it’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients. And of course it’s naturally gluten-free and doesn’t contain any dairy either. It’s perfect on a hot summer day as in addition to hydrating you, it’s guaranteed to perk you up and leave you feeling energised! Also, it’s ready in 5 minutes!
Blueberry Smoothie
🍴 Servings: 2 – 3
🕒 Hands-on: ~ 5 minutes
🎛 Cooking time: No cooking!

INGREDIENTS
- 250ml coconut water
- 150g (300ml) frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp ground almonds
- 1 tbsp chia or flax seeds (optional)
STEPS
1 Simply put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth! The recipe yields two bigger glasses (400ml each) or three small ones. If you prefer even thicker texture you can add extra blueberries, or alternatively add more coconut water if you liked thinner consistency.

Notes:
- Blueberries — Ideally use frozen blueberries as they give the smoothie a thicker texture, deeper purple colour and naturally make it colder too! If substituting for fresh blueberries, you’ll need to add extra blueberries to achieve the same consistency as with frozen blueberries. Adding ice cubes will help to make the smoothie thicker, but make sure to add the ice with the other ingredients, not when the smoothie is already blended (the blades won’t be able to break the ice cubes after the smoothie is blended)
- Coconut water — I’m not a big fan of coconut water on its own, but it works so well with the blueberries and other ingredients!
- Seeds — Adding chia or flax seeds, or even both, into your smoothie is a good way of making it even more nutritious! They won’t change the flavour or texture, you shouldn’t even notice them 🙂
ALLERGEN & DIET INFO:
🔷 If you are allergic to nuts, do not worry almonds can be omitted. The flavour will change slightly but it isn’t a massive difference!
🔷 This recipe is not vegan as it contains honey. I like the hint of sweetness honey adds but you can leave it out! Alternatively, you can replace it with agave syrup, maple syrup or even with sugar.
