Quick Ham Pasta

You’ll only need four main ingredients + seasoning for this quick Ham Pasta that’s ready in 15 minutes. Cook the pasta, slice the ham, mix the two sauce ingredients and season… and that’s your midweek dinner sorted! Super simple but so tasty!

Ham Pasta

🍴 Servings: 2
🕒 Hands-on: ~ 5 minutes
🎛 Cooking time: ~ 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 200g tagliatelle (6 nests)
  • 80g smoked ham
  • 150ml sour cream
  • 4 tbsp tomato passata
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp mixed herbs
  • pinch of white pepper
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • pinch of paprika

Plus

  • fresh basil/parsley, to serve (optional)
  • parmesan, to serve (optional)

STEPS

1 Cook the pasta al dente according to package instructions in salted water. Use a medium/large pan and only add the pasta once the water is boiling.

2 While the pasta is cooking, prepare the sauce. Simply mix passata and sour cream together in a small bowl and season to taste. Slice ham into about 1cm cubes and add to the sauce.

3 Drain the cooked pasta and put back in the pan. Then return on the hob and stir in the sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes on a low heat until hot. Serve the ham pasta as it is or with some herbs and/or parmesan on top!

Sour cream makes such a good base for quick pasta sauce!

Notes:

  • Passata — You can replace passata with tomato purée. If substituting, only use 1-2 tbsp of tomato puree as it has more concentrated flavour. Also note that purée makes the sauce dryer and it won’t be as “saucy”
  • Pasta — The sauce is also great with ham cappelletti (type of stuffed pasta). And you can leave the ham out too since the pasta is stuffed!

Main equipment:
Medium/Large saucepan
Colander (optional)
Small bowl
Chopping board + knife
